Sydney Burney
Lead Therapist
I believe therapy is a space for safety and compassion—a place where individuals, couples, and families can turn life’s challenges into opportunities for growth. Through personalized support, we can strengthen connections, build resilience, and restore balance. If you’re ready to explore, heal, and thrive, I invite you to begin this journey with me.
As a therapist, I deeply understand the courage it takes to embark on a healing journey. I value empathy, patience, and dedication, and I am passionate about creating a supportive space where clients feel empowered to face life’s challenges. Together, we can uncover strengths, build coping skills, and create lasting change that helps you step into the life you’ve always envisioned.
I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating concerns such as anxiety, depression, grief, relationship challenges, or major life transitions. My style is collaborative and compassionate, always tailored to meet each client’s unique needs and goals.
Outside of therapy, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, journaling, exercising, meditating, traveling, and writing poetry. A fun fact about me: in 2021, I created a 12-month calendar filled with motivational poems—a reflection of how much I value creativity, encouragement, and hope.

What can clients expect in a session with you?
In our sessions, you can expect an approach tailored to your unique needs. Early on, we’ll explore what brought you to therapy, your background, and the challenges you’re facing. As we continue, we’ll process your thoughts, feelings, and patterns together—using tools like CBT, mindfulness, and interpersonal theories. I often provide homework or affirmations (if that feels right to you) so the work we do continues beyond the session. My hope is that each session leaves you feeling seen, supported, and one step closer to your goals.
How do you incorporate faith or spirituality into your sessions?
For clients who desire it, I thoughtfully integrate faith and spirituality as sources of strength and resilience. This may include reflecting on scripture, exploring spiritual practices, or weaving faith into homework assignments. My goal is always to honor your beliefs and create a space that feels authentic to you.
What inspires you about the work you do?
I am inspired by the possibility of transformation—the way people can move from feeling overwhelmed or unseen to living with confidence and hope. From an early age, I felt called to walk alongside others in their struggles, and over the years I’ve witnessed how a lack of support can grow into deeper mental health concerns. That experience fuels my passion to provide the care, tools, and encouragement that help clients not only cope but truly thrive.
What makes your approach different?
My approach is grounded in empathy and tailored to each client’s journey. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all style of therapy—I combine evidence-based methods with compassion, cultural awareness, and creativity to meet you where you are. Clients often share that I help them feel both challenged and supported, offering practical tools while also honoring their pace. I see therapy as a partnership, and together we’ll uncover the strengths, insights, and resilience that already live within you.
