ZuShanna Turner

Associate Therapist

I believe therapy is a meaningful investment in your well-being—just like caring for your body. It’s proactive care that builds resilience and helps you thrive, not just survive. Your mental health deserves regular attention too, and I am passionate about walking with clients as they make that investment in themselves.

I am a Counselor, Educator, and Maternal Health Advocate with a heart for young adults, teens, mothers, and women. My mission goes beyond the therapy room—I want to support, encourage, and empower clients to thrive in every area of life. My approach is faith-based, integrative, and culturally sensitive, always tailored to each person’s unique needs and story. I believe that many struggles are rooted in developmental and environmental experiences, but every individual holds the resilience and strength to navigate those challenges. My role is to help clients tap into that resilience, discover practical strategies for healing, and find balance emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.

When I’m not working with clients, I love staying active through workouts, spending quality time with family and friends, exploring new cuisines, and traveling to experience different cultures. Rooted in my Caribbean heritage, I also bring deep cultural awareness into my work and my life.

Get To Know Me

What can clients expect in a session with you?

Clients can expect a warm, down-to-earth space where they can show up exactly as they are—no masks or pretenses needed. My approach is relaxed and conversational, often sprinkled with humor and real talk, so you’ll feel like you’re talking to someone who truly gets you. I bring my Caribbean background and deep cultural awareness into our work, honoring how your identity, community, and experiences shape your story. Together, we’ll explore how family, culture, and even systemic racism impact your mental health. I balance compassion with practical tools, helping you process, heal, and build skills you can use every day. In our sessions, you can expect genuine connection, thoughtful listening, and an approach that respects both where you come from and where you’re going.

How do you incorporate faith or spirituality into your sessions?

My faith and beliefs are woven into my work from start to finish. If you’re a believer, we’ll integrate therapeutic tools and mental health practices with biblical truths, exploring how your faith can guide your healing and growth. Together, we’ll lean on spiritual wisdom alongside practical strategies to help you navigate life’s challenges with hope, purpose, and deeper resilience.

What inspires you about the work you do?

I’m inspired by witnessing people grow—seeing them move from pain or confusion to a place of awareness, acceptance, and meaningful change. Helping others uncover their strengths, heal, and step into fuller, freer lives is truly what fuels my passion for this work.

What makes your approach different?

My approach blends faith, cultural sensitivity, and evidence-based practices in a way that is uniquely tailored to each client. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all therapy—I listen deeply, honor your story, and collaborate with you to find the tools and strategies that truly fit your life. Clients often tell me they appreciate the balance of compassion and directness I bring into sessions. I want you to feel seen, supported, and equipped not just to survive, but to thrive.
