Support Groups in New Jersey & New York
Healing Is Deeper When You Don't Do It Alone
There's something that happens in a room of people who actually understand — where you don't have to explain yourself, minimize what you're carrying, or perform being okay. That's what our support groups are built for. Small, intentional, clinician-led spaces that bridge the gap between individual therapy and real community.

Groups run in 6–8 week cycles. Virtual and in-person options across NJ & NY. Sessions from $30–$60, with package options available.

Get Grounded: DBT Skills Group
When emotions feel too big, relationships feel too hard, and life feels too unpredictable—Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) gives you the practical, research-backed skills to change that. Get Grounded is a structured DBT skills group designed to help you build a life that feels more stable, more intentional, and more yours.
Over the course of the group, you'll develop skills across four core areas:
-
Mindfulness — learning to be present without being overwhelmed
-
Distress Tolerance — getting through hard moments without making things worse
-
Emotion Regulation — understanding and managing the emotions that feel out of control
-
Interpersonal Effectiveness — communicating your needs and holding your boundaries in relationships
This group is ideal for anyone who struggles with emotional intensity, impulsivity, relationship conflict, or the feeling that your inner world is just too much to manage. No prior DBT experience required.
What Every Group Includes
Every SRWC support group is:

-
Clinician-led — facilitated by a licensed or supervised therapist, not a peer-only format
-
Structured — each session has a theme, discussion framework, and take-home tools
-
Intentionally small — so every person is seen and heard, not lost in a crowd
-
Practically focused — real skills and real strategies, not just talking in circles
-
Faith-optional — several groups offer faith integration; always your choice, never an assumption
