Premarital Counseling in New Jersey
Your Relationship is Worth the Investment
Some things in life you just can't afford not to prioritize. Your relationship is one of them.

At Simply Redefining Wellness & Counseling, we work with engaged couples who are serious about starting their marriage the right way — with the communication tools, shared vision, and emotional foundation to make it last.

Premarital Alignment Intensive — Summer 2026
The couples who thrive aren't the ones who never face hard things. They're the ones who built the skills before the hard things arrived.
The Premarital Alignment Intensive is an 8-week program designed for engaged couples who want to enter marriage with intention — not just excitement. Working directly with Carlene, you and your partner will:

-
Identify and align on shared values and expectations
-
Build practical communication and conflict resolution skills
-
Explore family backgrounds and the patterns you're each bringing in
-
Align on finances, lifestyle expectations, and how to make decisions together
-
Prepare emotionally and relationally for the next chapter

Premarital counseling is one of the highest-return investments you can make before your wedding day. Couples who complete it enter marriage with stronger communication, more realistic expectations, and deeper trust.
Investment: $1,298 for the full 8-week program. Availability for Summer 2026 is limited. If you're planning a summer wedding, now is the time to get started.

Frequently Asked Questions
1 / Do both partners need to attend every session?
Yes — the Premarital Alignment Intensive is designed as a joint experience. Both partners attend all eight sessions together. This is intentional; the work is most effective when both people are present, engaged, and committed to the process.
2 / Does insurance cover premarital counseling?
Most insurance plans do not cover premarital counseling. Insurance requires a diagnosed mental health condition to authorize treatment — and premarital preparation doesn't meet that threshold. The Premarital Alignment Intensive is a self-pay service. A superbill can be provided upon request if you'd like to explore potential out-of-network reimbursement through your plan.
3 / When should we start premarital counseling?
The earlier the better — especially if you're planning a summer wedding. Availability for Summer 2026 is limited. We recommend booking your consultation as soon as possible to secure your spot before the season fills.
4 / What makes this different from regular couples therapy?
The Premarital Alignment Intensive is forward-focused. Rather than addressing existing conflict or damage, it's designed to build the foundation before the hard things arrive — communication skills, shared values, conflict tools, and a clear vision for your marriage. It's proactive, structured, and built specifically for engaged couples.
