Community Partnerships & Speaking Services
Clinical expertise. Community impact. Transformation experiences.
At Simply Redefining Wellness & Counseling, we do more than provide therapy. We partner with nonprofits, corporations, leadership organizations, and churches, schools, to deliver mental health programming that moves people — not just informs them.

Led by Janelle Thompson, LPC, and supported by our team of licensed clinicians, our speaking and training services blend clinical precision, cultural authenticity, and faith-integrated wisdom. The result: audiences that leave equipped, not just educated.

Whether you need one speaker or a clinical team for a larger event or series — we can build an experience your people will still be talking about months later.

Why Organizations Book the SRWC Team
Most mental health speakers give a good talk. The SRWC team changes the conversation.
As a licensed clinician, organizational consultant, and founder of a multi-clinician group practice serving New Jersey and New York, Janelle Thompson brings something rare to the stage: real clinical depth, real community roots, and real stories that land.

Her career spans the therapy room and the systems beyond it — from serving as a juvenile justice therapist and Program Manager within the nationally recognized Fair Futures initiative (supporting youth aging out of foster care), to training professionals in the Eisenhower Youth Development Model. She knows how broken systems affect real people, and she knows how to help organizations build something better.

Audiences consistently describe her presentations as the rare kind that are both intellectually rigorous and personally transformative — delivered with warmth, cultural fluency, and the kind of honesty that makes people feel seen.

When Janelle isn't available — or when your event calls for multiple voices — our licensed clinicians bring the same depth, cultural competency, and clinical grounding to every engagement. You'll always have a credentialed professional representing your community well.

The SRWC team doesn't just speak at your event. We equip your people.

Let's Build Something That Matters
Your audience deserves more than a good talk. They deserve an experience that changes how they think, communicate, and care for themselves and the people around them.

When you book with us, you can request Janelle Thompson specifically or let us match you with the SRWC clinician whose background and expertise best fits your audience and topic. Either way, you're getting a licensed professional who shows up prepared, engaged, and ready to deliver.
We respond to all inquiries within 3 business days.
Frequently Asked Questions
1 / Does insurance cover couples therapy?
Most insurance plans don't cover traditional couples counseling. Coverage typically requires a diagnosed mental health condition, which relationship concerns don't meet on their own. Couples therapy at SRWC is self-pay. We can provide a superbill upon request for potential out-of-network reimbursement, though it's not guaranteed.
2 / How many sessions will we need?
It varies by couple and goals. Some couples work through a specific issue in 8–12 sessions; others benefit from longer-term support. Your therapist will check in regularly on progress and adjust accordingly.
3 / Do both partners have to come to every session?
For couples counseling, yes — both partners attend together. Occasionally your therapist may recommend an individual session for one or both partners as part of the process, but the primary format is joint sessions.
4 / Do you offer telehealth for couples?
Yes. Virtual couples sessions are available across New Jersey and New York. In-person sessions are available at our New Jersey office.
5 / We're not in crisis — is couples therapy still worth it?
Absolutely. Some of the most productive couples work happens before things break down. Therapy helps you build communication skills, strengthen your foundation, and get ahead of the patterns that cause problems later. You don't have to be struggling to benefit.
